Rumours about Iron Maiden's new album callled "Another Dimension" are false..go to www.ironmaiden.com From Brave Radio #131 JUDAS PRIEST - Tipton Speaks! According to JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Glenn Tipton, Priest are just about to head into the studio to "for the final stint of the new album. I know a lot of you are frustrated because we seem to have been very quiet this past year, so let me bring you up to date with everything. Although we couldn't be happier with SPV, our German record company, we needed to change the American and Japanese side of things. We felt we had to get back with major labels in these territories. Believe me, things like this take a long time to sort out. Atlantic Records have signed the band in North America and Japan. I already know many people there because they worked with me on my solo record Baptizm Of Fire." "There have been other factors that have slowed us down as well. On a personal level, last year was good and bad for me. I moved home and built a studio in my barn which was great. On the bad side, my dad has been ill and he needs a lot of attention. This has meant that for once in my life, Priest hasn't exactly been a priority. This has slowed us down alot and I apologise, but it was unfortunately unavoidable. The rest of the band have been very understanding of this. But we are all itching to go and are excited about the new album and the 2000 tour. We haven't been dormant though and on the up side, we've had plenty of time to write. I can't deny that I personally puzzled over the direction for a while but eventually I decided to just put ideas together and let instinct take control. I think the new album will surprise alot of people and I think Priest fans are going to love it. Jugulator was obviously met with apprehension especially as we had just taken Ripper (Owens - singer) on board, and everyone needed proof that the band was as good, if not better than ever, on stage. The Jugulator tour and the new live album proved just that. Ripper was totally accepted by the fans. He has great character and his ability is phenomenal. Finding him was nothing short of a miracle. I can honestly say that I have never enjoyed playing on stage as much as I did on the last tour. The energy and enthusiasm of the band and the audience was the most intense that I ever experienced. Although it took a while, nearly everyone now loves Jugulator and understands what we were trying to do at that point in time. Yes it is brutal, but I'm proud of it and it will always be a worthy chapter in our career, having its' own unique character and just like every other one of our albums. So going back to the new album - although we have maintained elements of Jugulator, we have also moved towards a more melodic and classic Priest frame of mind. Even the rough demos we did are full of character. When it finally comes out, I think you will agree it has been worth waiting for and I promise you won't have to wait so long for the next one! Thanks for being patient. Keep the faith" - Glenn Tipton RUMOUR: IRON MAIDEN are recording their new album, possibly entitled ANOTHER DIMENSION, possibly somewhere in France, and the cover artwork, possibly not drawn by Derek Riggs was possibly turned down because it possibly resembled the one of Somewhere in time, too much. In almost relative news, Blaze Cook, (ex IRON MAIDEN) known under the moniker Blaze, is putting out his new offering "Silicon Messiah", produced by Andy Sneap. ??/12 Megadeth's Risk has been certified gold. CONGRATULATIONS!! 18/12 Iron Maiden's in the studio working on the new album that is expected to be released sometime in March 2000. Go to www.ironmaiden.com for pictures by the band and messages. I just recently discovered that Polydor were due to release a Faith No More greatest hits album called "Epic". I contacted the maintainer of Caca Volante(www.cv.org) and told him. He said he had been talking with Mike Patton(singer of Faith No More) and that he didn't know anything about a Greatest Hits album called Epic. Sure is interesing, huh??..let's see what happens!

Well..in my opinion 1999 has been a very interesting year because of great albums that has been released..I still haven't checked all of them out and it's also because there is still alot of "old" music that needs to be discovered. Here's my list of good albums of 1999: Megadeth: Risk Risk wasn't excactly what a lot of fans exptected...some hate it and some love it. I love it. Dave Mustaine(singer, guitarist) is a tremendous songwriter and it's cool to see that Marty Friedman(guitarist) has co-written almost all of them. I strongly recommend this album. Paradise Lost: Host This is also a risky album indeed. The 5 goth rockers have put away the distorted guitar and instead made an album that is dominated by synthesizers, cellos & violins and some cool soundeffects to spice it. I think this album is good and is worth checking out. Liquid Tension Experiment 2: Instrumental masturbation...really cool..all songs really rock and it's so diverse that it doesn't get boring though it's about 70 minutes long. The surprise of the album is the Peter Gabriel kind'a bass groove by Tony Levin in "Liquid Dreams" but it's also one of the albums highlights! Therapy?: Suicide Pact - You First This is rock'n roll..it's noisy, it's dirty, it's ugly, it's weird and it's GREAT! All songs recorded live in some scary mansion in the woods. The "live" sound is really there and that's why it rocks so good. Andy Cairn(singer) sounds like a lunatic and the weird time signatures some songs have is a pleasent surprise. Dream Theater : Scenes From A Memory A concept album that might get the same status as "Operation Mindcrime", "Misplaced Childhood" or "2112"??? I dunno..but it's perhaps this year's most interesting effort. Bruce Dickinson : Scream For Me, Brazil Bruce Dickinson a.k.a. The Best White Male Singer In The World??? Dunno..but this album has the perfect vibe for headbangin'..all songs are performed really tight and the sound of the record is really good..so if you haven't heard any of Bruce's solo project albums then this album might be a good starter!!
